Want to stay fit while studying? Our Synergy fitness suite will help keep your body and mind healthy. It offers a wide range of state-of-the-art cardiovascular and resistance machines along with functional fitness equipment. Advice is also available on all aspects of personal fitness, including programme development, sports training and healthy lifestyle options.
The fitness suite is a teaching facility, but when not in use for teaching, it is available on a membership basis for staff and students.
Before joining, you will have to complete a medical questionnaire and formal induction. These can be arranged at Synergy during opening hours.
Dance Studio
As part of our Membership scheme, you will also have access to our fitness classes which run in our spacious Dance Studio. We have an excellent range of computerised spin bikes and along with spin classes will offer a variety of classes in current fitness trends.
Sports Halls
Want to represent the college in a competitive sport or play recreational sport? Synergie utilises our 4 badminton court sports hall and our 2 badminton court sports hall for our sporting clubs. For a one off payment of £10 you will have access to any of our training sessions which cater for both recreational and competitive players.
SSS & BUCS - Competitive Sport
We are affilicated with SSS (Scottish Student Sport) an organisation that provides a competition structure for all Scottish Colleges and Scottish Universities. Through this there is an opportunity to compete across a diverse range of sporting activities.
We compete in BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) currently we are affiliated to compete in men’s football.
Sports Therapy Clinics
Got a sports injury, a chronic joint, or back problem; an on-going soft tissue niggle that does not appear to be easing? Then our Sports Injury/Massage Clinic might be able to help.
The Sports Injuries Clinic has proven its worth as a resource available to college staff and students alike in order to receive professional treatment in a professional environment. However, perhaps more importantly it has given the Sports Therapy students a taste of their future profession both in a practical sense and in the management and running of that environment.
The new first and second year cohort of students from Sports Therapy will have the opportunity to apply their new skills gained from practical units achieved in first year and also implement on-going skills from units in the second year program.
This has proven to be a great opportunity for the Sports Therapy students in helping to increase their confidence at an early stage. This will be supervised, and due to its popularity in years previously, will run twice weekly at the times stated below:
