Our City Market Bakery provides an excellent real-world learning experience for students. They must turn around real-world baking within a specific time and to a consistently high standard, and they see immediate results when people not only buy their produce but return and become regular customers. As a regular part of their coursework, students create a range of cakes, scones, pastries, bread and rolls for the City Market Bakery which has proved to be very popular with members of the public and a welcome addition to Cathedral Street.
City Market has an award-winning in-house baker who supplements the items from the bakery and patisserie classes. We have a selection of baked goods, salads, sandwiches, pastries, barista coffees, cold drinks and ice cream for sale. We sometimes have freshly butchered meat and fresh fish for sale too. - Friday 8.30am - 3pm.
