This is a 3-year course to become an operative in the Gas Industry obtaining a certificate of competence to work on gas appliances in the domestic market. Final qualifications will include ACS, Central Heating Boilers, Cookers, Fires, Warm Air and CPA1.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to join the Gas Safety Register and will be qualified to work as a Gas Engineer within the Domestic Gas Industry. Further training and assessment can be undertaken to acquire competencies in other areas.

Don’t worry, the city of Glasgow College will let you know when your ACS gas certificate is going to expire. ACS Gas Certificates are valid for 5 years, on expiry candidates can undertake a re-assessment within 6 months of their certificate expiry date.
If you miss your renewal you could face:-
- Removal from the Register.
- Mandatory Attendance to a theory based Inspection event.
- Application of a penalty fee.
