The Part-time Fee Grant from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) gives you financial support each year towards the cost of your tuition fees.
The level of support you'll get depends on the number of credits you do and the qualification you are studying.
The maximum fee grant we can award is:
- £1,805 for publicly funded degree level courses.
- £1,820 for 120 credit degree level courses at non-campus based universities.
- £1,274 for publicly funded Higher National awards (HNC, HND).
- £1,195 for all courses at private providers.
You can also use the PTFG fee calculator to work out how much fee grant we will pay.
Don't use the calculator if you are studying 120 credits of a degree level course at a non-campus based university. You will be eligible to apply for the full £1820 part-time fee grant.
If you withdraw from your course, we cannot guarantee that you will qualify for a part-time fee grant.
Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA)
Extra help is available to you if you have to pay extra costs while you study because of a disability or learning difficulty. Further information on the type of funding available and eligibility criteria is available.
If you're applying for DSA for the first time, or if your disability has changed significantly since you last applied, we'll want you to have a needs assessment carried out. For more information on how to apply and a list of assessment centres, visit the SAAS website Disabled Student Allowance Information.
