Suicide

  • Chris’s House (Centre for Help, Response, and Intervention Surrounding Suicide) based in North Lanarkshire is a 24-hour suicide crisis centre offering a safe place for people to go and stay whilst accessing professional support.
  • Mind Suicidal Feelings: Educational reading from Mind Charity outlining how to cope with suicidal thoughts, what you do and where to go for support. 
  • Papyrus provides support for those dealing with suicide, depression or emotional distress, particularly teenagers and young adults. They also have a helpline which is 24/7 support through phone, text, email and webchat.

Self-harm/self-injury

  • Calm Harm is an app that provides tasks to help manage the urge to self-harm. 
  • Harmless is an organisation that provides a range of services about self-harm including support, information, training and consultancy to people who self-harm, their friends and families and professionals.
  • LifeSIGNS (Self-Injury Guidance & Network Support) is an online, voluntary organisation providing information and support to people of all ages affected by self-injury.
  • Self Harm Network Scotland provides free compassionate support, resources, and information about self-harm. Their live chat is open from 6-10pm each day and they can also offer 1-1 ongoing support.
