improve your skills and give something back
Volunteering is a great way to improve your employability by building up your skills and gaining valuable experience. It also gives something back to the community.
There are a huge number of opportunities that you can get involved in, with a diverse range of organisations including charities and community groups. Volunteering roles can range from one hour per month to five days a week, so you don’t have to commit more time than you have.
If your course requires work experience hours, volunteering is a great way to achieve your required number of hours.
The Students' Association's new Volunteering Hub is a great place to look for volunteering opportunities within the College as well as with local charities and organisations. Create a volunteer profile to log your skills and volunteering hours whilst working towards CitySA's Volunteer Awards. You can also access volunteer training opportunities throughout the year and join the Volunteer Forum to network with other student volunteers.
