Applied arts

Using our state-of-the-art studios and workshops, you’ll focus on developing high-quality craft skills needed to be a professional maker. You’ll experiment with techniques in art glass, applied ceramics, jewellery, textiles and performance costume.

Design practice

Designers help shape the world, they’re at the forefront of tackling problems affecting societies daily. You’ll focus on real-life problems as you develop your own specialist design focus. You’ll learn to think strategically, research and experiment, and create solutions using a variety of physical and digital processes and materials.

Furniture restoration

Our furniture design and restoration courses will develop your unique and individual style as a designer, and you'll create an exceptional body of work through working on vital and diverse project briefs. You’ll gain hands-on experience restoring and developing and building designs throughout the course, as you build a substantial portfolio of work.

Interior design

Learning in a professional studio environment, our interior design courses will teach you to understand the three-dimensional potential, the atmosphere, and the identity of the spaces in which we live, work, rest, and play. You’ll build a portfolio of work through interior design projects, which vary in scale and type, including hotels, museums, restaurants and shops.

Jewellery

We work closely with a range of industry partners who help shape our jewellery arts and technology course to ensure you gain the skills needed for a successful career in jewellery making. You’ll combine new technology with traditional techniques, pushing boundaries of material exploration, and developing skills in emerging technologies with access to laser cutting and 3D printing.  Our students have won awards in national competitions including British Art Medal Society.
