UNIVERSITY OF BOLTON AND CITY OF GLASGOW COLLEGE ESTABLISH NEW PARTNERSHIP
The University of Bolton and City of Glasgow College have this week signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together to provide City students with the opportunity to access degree provision.
Both institutions have been in discussions for several months to agree a pathway for both students from Scotland and overseas to access a wide range of the higher education courses at Bolton. Professor George Holmes, the University’s Vice Chancellor, and Dr Paul Little, the Principal and CEO of City of Glasgow College, signed the agreement, which strengthens the links between the institutions.
Working together, the institutions will provide all relevant students currently studying in Glasgow, the opportunity to access programmes in business & accountancy degree and postgraduate qualifications starting in Autumn 2024.
Professor Holmes commented:” Both the University and the College have a strong track record of widening access to education for students who might traditionally have struggled to undertake higher level qualifications.”
The arrangement will mean that Scottish students currently studying Highers, the equivalent of A levels, will now be able to join undergraduate degree courses at Bolton.
Dr Little added:” We see this as the beginning of a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship with Bolton University. The university’s high levels of student satisfaction are admirable, and combined with our international reach and ambition, we hope that we will work collaboratively on many projects both domestically and internationally.
“With both Glasgow and Bolton having strong similarities in terms of their industrial heritage, we are keen to provide our students the opportunity to continue their education at a top-class university within the Greater Manchester region.”
