Silver Award for our support for the armed forces community

We’re excited to announce we’ve been awarded a Silver Employer Recognition Scheme Award from the Ministry of Defence for our support to the Armed Forces community. As Scotland’s leading technical and professional skills College, we have fostered close partnerships with organisations such as Babcock and BAE Systems that play an essential role in the Armed Forces supply chain and we take great pride in delivering world class training to this highly skilled workforce.

Chris Smith, Business Engagement and Innovation lead at City of Glasgow College said:

“The education provided at the College helps address skills gaps in this vital sector. We also train over 40% of the UK’s Merchant Navy Cadets and our Riverside Campus in Glasgow acts as a base for the local Navy Cadet groups with a number of our staff serving as Cadet Adult Volunteers.

“We are delighted to receive the Silver Employer Recognition Scheme Award. As a civic anchor institution of the City of Glasgow, we are proud of the contribution made by our Reservists, Cadet Adult Volunteers and Veterans within the College.”
