International educator of barbering and men's hairdressing barber.josh.o.p. provide masterclass for City barbering students.

City of Glasgow College recently played host to an extraordinary training event featuring the internationally acclaimed barber and educator barber.josh.o.p. Renowned as a pioneer of modern barbering and men's hairdressing, barber.josh.o.p has garnered multiple awards globally, establishing themselves as a highly reputable educator in the global men’s hair industry.

Hosted in the College’s Lecture Theatre, Tony Forrest, Simon Butcher, and Montel Campbell, key members of barber.josh.o.p's team, took centre stage, showcasing cutting-edge techniques and demonstrating six on-trend hairstyles using state-of-the-art equipment.

Our barbering students had the unique opportunity to engage with the sector leading barbers, posing questions and gaining insights into the intricacies of the industry. Cristina Devine, Curriculum Head of Hairdressing and Barbering, expressed her enthusiasm for integrating this comprehensive curriculum into the students' educational journey.

‘It was fantastic for our students to learn from an industry leading education provider with courses all over the globe delivering the revolutionary with the D.F.S formula, Line Theory and much more. Our students were taught the award winning Systematic Fading technique and we’re given access to everything that makes barber.josh.o.p successful. The training provided so much more than just an insight into cutting techniques. The teams highly renowned mindset and philosophy talks left our students with not only an enhanced relationship with barbering but also with an enhanced relationship with themselves.’

The event's success was further enhanced by the support of our industry partners, with L’Oreal Pulp Riot taking a prominent role as a sponsor. Their stunning colour demonstrations on stage demonstrated techniques for a diverse range of clients, adding to the educational experience for our students.

To top it off, each student walked away with a generous goody bag filled with products to use in their own practice. City of Glasgow College continues to set the standard for excellence in barbering education, ensuring students are equipped with the latest knowledge and techniques from industry leaders like barber.josh.o.p.
