City of Glasgow College offers its heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolences to His Majesty King Charles III and the Royal Family on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

City of Glasgow College Principal, Dr Paul Little, said: “We join the country in mourning Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and pay tribute to the longest reigning Monarch during 70 years of extraordinary change. Her Majesty will be long remembered for a lifetime of unselfish service, devotion to duty and love of family.” 

The date of the Queen's State Funeral will be Monday, 19 September 2022. This is an official bank holiday across the UK, and the College will be closed. 

For the remainder of this week, College life will continue as normal. Following national protocol, we will fly the Union Flag at half-mast on both sites until 0800 on the day following the Queen’s State Funeral. 

The State Funeral represents the final day of mourning for the UK’s longest reigning monarch.
