Crazy Bull Inspires Barbering Students
Barbering students were given an exciting opportunity to experience two live demonstrations by industry professionals and Crazy Bull Hair Ambassadors, Carol Black and Emi Balogh. Organised by barbering lecturers Georgios Kynigos and Leanne McGuire, the event provided invaluable hands-on experience, allowing students to observe top-quality barbering techniques in action while gaining insight into the innovative Crazy Bull product range.
During the event, Emi Balogh demonstrated her skills by cutting the hair of barbering student Sasha Dunko, while Carol Black worked her magic on Lauren Harrison. Both students had the chance to experience firsthand the precision and style that these experts bring to their craft, adding a personal and memorable touch to the demonstrations.
Carol and Emi showcased their techniques using Crazy Bull’s premium products, including the popular MattMeUp matte paste and Space Dust hair texture powder. Carlos Callirgos, one of the three founders of Crazy Bull Hair, explained the chemistry behind the products, highlighting features such as the non-sticky application and the QR code technology that provides additional product information.
Carlos also shared his inspiring journey from leaving the military in 2018 to building a thriving business. Initially involved in photographing the brand, he soon became an integral part of the company’s growth, which now boasts a team of 20 staff members based in Leeds. His story resonated with students, reinforcing the entrepreneurial spirit within the barbering industry.
Carlos explained: “Crazy Bull Hair represents duality—embracing both a relaxed and fierce approach to life.” Carlos emphasised the deeper role of barbering, describing it as a career that allows professionals to express creativity, but also to act as confidants and supporters for their clients. “The barbershop,” he stated, “serves as a recovery zone,” underlining the strong mental health support network within the barbering community.”
Leanne stated: “This visit was an incredible opportunity for our students to engage with industry professionals and gain real-world insights. Seeing the techniques in action and learning about the science behind the products truly enriched their understanding of barbering as both a craft and a business.”
“It was great to see how the Crazy Bull products perform in the hair. The Space Dust product, being water-based, leaves no residue on the hands, allowing barbers to continue their service seamlessly. We were also impressed with the Crazy Bull Shades product, which subtly coats grey hair without being permanent. It washes out easily, leaving no residue behind.”
Student feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with one commenting on the eye-opening experience of understanding the industry beyond just cutting hair. The demonstrations and discussions provided insights into product innovation, brand identity, and the impact of barbering on both personal and client wellbeing.
We look forward to seeing how this potential partnership unfolds and how it could enhance our students’ learning experience in the future.
