College Launches Podcasting & Media Award for 2025

City of Glasgow College is making waves in the world of broadcasting with the launch of its brand-new Higher National Diploma in Podcasting and Media – Next Generation. This course is the first of its kind, designed to equip the next generation of podcasters and media professionals with the cutting-edge skills needed to thrive in the fast-evolving world of digital audio content.

With podcasting and on-demand audio now at the heart of global media trends, this year 2 entry course (for those with relevant HNC/SCQF Level 7 qualifications) offers a bespoke programme tailored to industry demands. From professional production techniques to presenting and commercial content creation, students will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment, learning from expert media professionals.

Thanks to significant investment in the College’s brand-new City Podcasting Suite and City Radio Station, students will train in state-of-the-art facilities, mirroring real-world broadcasting environments.

James Wilson, Curriculum Head for Broadcasting and Media, emphasised:

"It’s exciting to build on the College’s decades of experience in video and audio production. Podcasting and on-demand audio offer huge opportunities, and this course is designed to give students the skills and confidence to succeed in this dynamic industry."

Applications are now open for the first intake in August 2025.
