Learning and Teaching Conference 2025
Our fifth Learning and Teaching Conference is set for Tuesday 21 January 2025. This event is designed to inspire collaboration and knowledge-sharing among colleagues. Hosted at City Campus, the conference will offer an engaging mix of keynote addresses, presentations, and hands-on workshops.

Keynote Speaker
This year, we are thrilled to welcome keynote speaker Dr Emily McIntosh. Emily has held a variety of leadership roles in learning, teaching and the student experience in several UK universities. She joined the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) as Director of Student Success in January 2023. Emily is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA) and a National Teaching Fellow (NTF).
She is an Executive Member & Trustee of the Heads of Educational Development (HEDG) group and an Independent Board Member of Trafford & Stockport College Group (TSCG). Emily has published widely on a variety of topics from academic advising, personal tutoring and peer learning to integrated practice.
Conference Schedule
The day will start with a welcome from Dr Claire Carney, Vice Principal - Student Experience, City of Glasgow College and Dr Paul Little, Principal and Chief Executive, City of Glasgow College. Delegates will then hear from Keynote Speaker Dr Emily McIntosh, Director of Student Success, University of the West of Scotland who will talk about 'Going Tertiary: A New Frontier for Student Success in Scotland'. This will be followed by two sessions where delegates can chose from a variety of talks, presentations and workshops. The day will end with a panel discussion and closing remarks at 3.45pm.
