Sabores a Espana - Unleash the Art of Spanish Tapas

Welcome to an immersive Spanish tapas cookery class where you'll begin your exciting journey through the vibrant flavours of Spain. In this hands-on cooking class you will learn the simplicity and delicious flavour combinations that Spain is renowned for. You will gain insight into selecting and sourcing authentic Spanish ingredients. In each lesson, you will concentrate on one main dish which will give you a number of smaller tapas style servings.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • There are no entry requirements - this is a fun leisure class for amateur cooks to learn different cookery styles and skills.

What you study

You will learn a number of different dishes from various regions across Spain. You will explore a selection of meat dishes such as pork fillet, steak with patatas bravas or Serrano croquetas. This course could not offer an authentic experience without honouring dishes such as Paella, Tortilla or iconic desserts like the Crema Catalana or Tarta de Santiago. You will also learn knife skills, cooking techniques and plating strategies to elevate your cooking to a new level.

There are a variety of leisure classes within the Culinary Arts and Bakery department which you may wish to consider after completing the course.

Teaching

How the course is taught

  • The first night will be a practical demonstration by the lecturer and recipes will be issued.
  • You will be required to buy ingredients to bring in with you every week.
  • There will be lecturer led demonstrations every week and also the chance to ask any questions and taste the food.

Materials

All equipment is provided for you within our specialist practical areas. You will be required to bring in containers to take your food home in.

Dress code

  • Student to provide their own apron and wear comfortable flat shoes.
