Overview
This is a practical course where you'll learn how to make content for online as well as broadcast distribution. You will work with other students on a range of projects in music programming as well as both factual and scripted video.
Entry requirements
Minimum entry requirements
- Two National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above including English; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

ESOL entry requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.

After the course
Careers
This course is designed to introduce you to opportunities within the broadcasting business. It will provide the basic skills and knowledge required at a junior level though the industry will expect you to continue your studies and develop. At this stage, there are some entry-level roles and apprenticeship opportunities.
Continuing Study
Successful students can progress to NQ media and TV programmes at level 6, or potentially HNC courses in Radio, Television or other media subjects.
Teaching
How the course is taught
The course is taught in a series of projects where you can apply the different skills you learn. Most of the workload is of a practical or creative nature where you will work with your classmates to make different kinds of content, both audio and video. Some of the course is likely to be delivered online in virtual classrooms.
