Overview

This is a school college partnership course for school students in S4-S6.

This exciting new course will introduce you to the skills required to enter the hairdressing industry. Learning in our onsite salons you’ll gain essential practical experience in a realistic industry environment.

You’ll gain practical skills by working with mannequins, peers, and clients to deliver essential barbering services.

Throughout the course, you'll also develop key employability skills and gain a strong understanding of health and safety in the salon.

This course is enhanced by events and additional training opportunities with our key industry partners.

Attendance Pattern

  • Tuesday and Thursday (1.30pm – 4pm).

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

This course would suit creative, collaborative and communicative team players open to learning new skills and techniques. There are no formal qualifications required, just a genuine interest in the barbering sector. Applicants must be aged 16 by the 2nd September 2025.

After the course

Careers

You will be able to gain employment as a senior Barber or apply for training positions within the Barbering industry and Further Education.

Modern Apprenticeships are available in Hairdressing and Barbering.

Continuing Study 

Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress onto further qualifications at NQ Level 5 and 6.
