Overview
It is projected (by 2025) that eSports growth will be greater than any other sport in the world.
This course prepares you for involvement and participation within the exciting and rapidly expanding sphere of eSports. This NQ Qualification will involve organisation and preparation for events, where you will experience disciplines that impact and support this emerging industry including Digital Media, Social Media Management, Games Dev, Event Organisation & Promotion, Team Management & Performance Analysis.
Students will use industry-standard software (including access to popular eSports titles) and hardware (PC, VR, mobile devices).
There will also be opportunities to get involved in the British Esports Student Championships. Titles and events that may feature on this course are Rocket League, Valorant, CS:GO, DOTA 2.
This course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 6.
Entry requirements
Minimum entry requirements
- Three National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above including English and Mathematics; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

ESOL entry requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.
