Overview
This course explores the dynamic world of digital media, focusing on the creation, distribution, and management of content across diverse digital platforms. You'll gain an understanding of the evolving landscape of digital media and you'll be equipped with the practical skills necessary for content creation in various formats.
This course will introduce you to creative and technical skills, in the production of screen-based graphic design and media content for interactive and multimedia applications, such as web, mobile app and motion graphics.
Entry requirements
Minimum entry requirements
- Two National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above including English and Art and Design or Graphic Communication; OR
- Level 5 National Certificate in Art and Design or related subject; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

ESOL entry requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.

This course typically employs a combination of lectures, hands-on workshops, case studies, and practical projects. Students mainly work individually and in groups to create and present their digital content projects.
During the course, you'll be taught by staff with significant Digital Media experience and a proven track record of bringing out the best in their students.
The course is delivered mainly through practical projects in the studio and state-of-the-art labs, using industry standard software and techniques.
Assessment methods
Assessment methods may include individual and group projects, presentations, written assignments, practical exercises, and examinations. Emphasis is usually placed on both the creative output and the understanding of theoretical concepts.

Materials
You'll need to provide external devices or similar cloud storage to save your work. You'll need notebooks/sketchbooks for research work and you may be expected to pay for print outs where necessary.
