Overview
Please note - this is a school college partnership course for school students S4-S6.
Accountants help organisations succeed. They develop effective accounting procedures and provide financial and cost information to management.
The course comprises two areas of study.
Financial accounting: You will learn how to prepare accounting statements and analyse, interpret and report on an organisation's financial performance. You will use these techniques in applying a systematic approach to solving financial problems.
Management accounting: You will develop skills, knowledge and understanding of internal accounting information and prepare this using a range of basic accounting techniques.
You will discover how to help businesses keep track of their money and explore the significant impact that this information has on the future planning, control and success of a business.
This subject has a large practice component. You will learn from real-life situations that develop your skills. You can then apply your skills to communicate financial and management information.
