Overview
This course will teach you exciting and comprehensive range of skills with a design-led focus. The course could provide you with a variety of work suitable for a portfolio with an emphasis on Jewellery Design. Alongside making there will be drawing, design and exploring your creative process with a variety of materials.
We focus on marrying new technology with traditional techniques – pushing boundaries of material exploration, and developing skills in emerging technologies with access to Laser cutting and 3D Printing. Alongside making there will be drawing, design and exploring your creative process with a variety of materials developing innovative design skills.
We work closely with industry partners to deliver live projects and briefs and compete successfully in National competitions. Award-winning and leading the way in ethical practices and sustainability in industry, this course will enable you to leave a responsible maker.

This course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 8.
Entry requirements
Minimum entry requirements
- Higher Art and Design at Grade C or above AND National 5 English at Grade C or above; OR
- NC/NQ in an Art and Design subject; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience.
Additional selection requirements
- You'll be invited for a group and/or individual interview where you can find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in this subject area or we'll make an offer based on your application form.
- You'll be asked to provide examples of your art and design work.
ESOL entry requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.
