    This course helps you develop the knowledge and skills required to operate effectively at supervisory level in the hospitality industry. While the first year of the course covers both practical and theoretical skills, the second year focuses on providing you with the necessary managerial knowledge and skills for a junior management position.

    This HND Hospitality Management is a valuable qualification for employment in an exciting and ever-changing industry, as well as good preparation for further studies.

    This course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 8. 

    Entry requirements

    Minimum entry requirements

    • Successful completion of the HNC Hospitality Operations or similar award, including a pass in Graded Unit 1; OR
    • Relevant and extensive industrial experience at supervisory level.

    ESOL entry requirements

    Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.

    Careers

    The course prepares you for employment at junior management/supervisory level in a hospitality department, and graduate training schemes with many large organisations.

    We work with key representatives from industry to offer graduate training positions following the successful completion of the HND.

    On successful completion of your HND you may apply to:

    • Year 3 of BA International Hospitality Management at Edinburgh Napier University.
    • Year 3 of BA Tourism at the University of the West of Scotland.
    • Year 3 of BA International Business and Hospitality Management at Glasgow Caledonian University.
