Overview
On this HND Electrical Engineering year 2 course, you'll expand on the electrical principles covered in the HNC Electrical Engineering. During the course, you'll be taught by staff with significant industry experience to develop your skills in a range of theory and practical disciplines. Many of the course units are project-based with report writing included in just over half of the second year subject units including a Graded Unit 2 technical project.
The course is designed to enable you to gain employment in the Electrical Engineering Industry and Electrical supply sector which deals with the production, transmission, distribution and application of electricity and the manufacture, installation, design and maintenance of electrical equipment or you can apply for third year of a degree program.
This HND qualification can also be gained on a part-time attendance through our HND Electrical Engineering day release course which runs one day a week over a two years timetabled program. Entry can only be gained after the successful completion of the Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical Engineering.
This course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 8.
