Overview
This building surveying course is delivered by highly professional teaching staff, with significant Construction Industry experience and a proven track record of bringing out the best in their students.
The technician level qualification combines a broad-based first-year curriculum with a more specialist second-year curriculum, which will provide you with the skills required for employment in this sector.
This is a two-year HND that accepts direct entrants to year two of the course.
This course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 8.
Entry requirements
Minimum entry requirements
Year one:
- Two Highers at Grade C or above in appropriate subjects such as English, Mathematics or a Science subject; OR
- National Certificate at SCQF level 6 in Built Environment; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience.
Year two:
- HNC Built Environment.
- It may also be possible to gain entry with an HNC in Building Surveying. This will depend on the units that have been covered in the HNC. Students who gain entry with this qualification will require a bespoke infill programme, so each application will be considered on an individual basis.

ESOL entry requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.
