  • Overview

    You will take part in an exciting and comprehensive programme of design and specialist craft studies. The course is project-based, and you will be designing, exploring and making, drawing and personal expression. There is a strong ethos of ethical making and sustainability, which will be embedded into your learning.

    The course could provide you with a variety of work suitable for a portfolio with an emphasis on applied art techniques in Art Glass, Ceramics, Jewellery, Textiles and Performance Costume.

    This course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 7. 

    Entry requirements

    Minimum entry requirements

    • Two Highers at Grade C or above in Art and English AND two National 4 qualifications; OR
    • NQ Art and Design; OR
    • Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

    Additional selection requirements

    • You'll be invited for a group and/or individual interview where you can find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in this subject area or we'll make an offer based on your application form.
    • You'll be asked to provide examples of your art and design work.

    ESOL entry requirements

    Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.
