Overview

This course will teach and develop the skills required for a successful career in the Construction industry.

The HNC part-time course will be delivered one day a week for 2 years. The subjects delivered include the fundamentals in built environment, building design requirements from development through to completion with best practice in digital construction skills.

Key skills in areas of design, technology and digital construction development will allow students to become proficient in advising on and working with innovative architecture technology.

This course will help you gain a creative attitude and be skilled in detailing to design by using both digital construction and computer-aided drafting techniques.

Some of the units covered in the course include Residential Design, Construction Detailing, Digital Surveying, REVIT, and BIM with an exciting end of year design project in the second year.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • One Higher at Grade C or above including Mathematics or a Science subject; OR
  • National Certificate in Built Environment at SCQF level 6; OR
  • Other equivalent qualifications or experience.
