Overview

Please Note:  This is a school college partnership course.  We can only accept online applications from Secondary School pupils in their Senior Phase.

This course offers you a unique opportunity to complete an HNC in Administration and Information Technology whilst in your 6th year at school. 

With a continued demand for staff with advanced administration and IT skills in the UK, through studying this course you will develop the skills needed to effectively manage and make important decisions in an administration work environment.

There are many significant advantages in choosing to complete this course, including:

  • You won’t pay any fees or require a student loan potentially saving you money.
  • When you finish school, you can progress directly onto the second year of any of our HND Business options.
  • You can continue your studies at school as normal.
  • You will attend college for 2 days per week and complete study in your own time.

Attendance Pattern

Tuesday and Thursday (9:30am – 5pm).

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • Applicants should have at least 3 National 5 qualifications at grades C or above plus one Higher at C or above.

Relevant subjects include English, Administration, Business and Management, Economics, Geography, History, Modern Studies, Maths, Science subjects. Other subjects may be considered.

After the course

Careers

The course helps develop a unique set of transferrable skills, knowledge and behaviours that can be applied to any business.  

Continuing Study

Graduates of this course can progress directly onto the second year of our HND Administration and Information Technology or second-year entry into most business-related degree programmes at university.

Students who successfully complete HND Business can articulate to the third year of many degree programmes in business.

How the course is taught

A mixture of class lecturers, group tasks and presentations.

Assessment methods

All but one of the units that you study are assessed continuously throughout the year.  One end-of-year exam will assess your integrated knowledge across the course.
