Join us on this wonderful opportunity to (re)discover the Spanish Language with a touch of culture.

Whatever your aspirations are - international working relationships, going on holiday and tasting the real traditional paella, frittata or tapas with a glass of cava or cerveza, living or retiring in the Costa del Sol, or just for your own enjoyment this course is ideal for you.

Our classes provide a supportive and encouraging environment where you can learn at your own pace and connect with fellow language enthusiasts. Our experienced language tutors are passionate and will share their dedication, helping you flourish in the language. Some cultural elements will be taught so that you will be familiar with the country whether it is for a short stay or your new home.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

You should have attended the Exploring Language & Culture Spanish - Initial stage or have some prior basic knowledge in the language (to A1 CEFR).

What you study

This is a daytime class.  Topics will include (but may not be restricted to):

  • Revision/ in-depth personal information about yourself and others.
  • Talking about work, arranging meetings.
  • Making enquiries about places, timetables, costs.
  • Booking trains, flights, hotels and amenities.
  • Admin necessities in the country.
  • Health and lifestyle.
  • Dealing with emergencies - hospital, illness.
  • Expressing likes, dislikes and opinions.
  • Talking about past events.

Our classes incorporate games, quizzes, role plays and real-life scenarios to make learning enjoyable and effective.

After the course

Careers

You will be able to apply knowledge and skills learned in class in various contexts including - international exchanges, employability, holidays, and better understand customs and cultural aspects of countries in which the language is spoken.

Continuing Study

You may wish to enrol on the next stage - Post beginner/ Lower intermediate Spanish class (A2 on the CEFR).

Teaching

How the course is taught

The class is taught at our City campus for 18 weeks, 2 hours per week, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Assessment methods

There are no formal assessments.  Classes will be taught in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, through role plays, practical speaking exercises, quizzes, etc.

Materials

Our language lecturers will use their own materials and will advise you if you need to purchase any materials.
