Overview

This course will appeal to anyone who has completed Drama Performance: Level 1 or who already has equivalent experience in the performing arts perhaps at an NC or community level. This course has been designed as a progression from Level 1 but will also appeal to those interested in exploring future careers as drama students, actors, theatre makers or creative writers.

Working within our college lecture theatre you will learn through group interaction and solo work. Level 2 will include Acting for Camera, Shakespeare Dramaturgy, and Scottish Contemporary Theatre. Working from scripts and through devising processes, you will develop techniques and skills in voice and movement, developing an overall performance level in professional development. You will enhance your script analysis skills, devising skills, and develop an understanding of playwrights including Shakespeare, and their writing styles. At the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to perform devised scenes or script extracts to friends and family within the college lecture theatre.

The course will be taught by professional lecturers who have taught drama within schools, colleges and directed many plays over the last 15 years.
