Overview
City of Glasgow College is a CIPS Centre of Excellence.
All our CIPS courses are student led.
You will spend 40% of your time engaging in tutorials and 60% engaging with our Virtual Learning Environment, completing activities, engaging in discussions and completing practice papers.
What will I learn
You will come away with a clear knowledge and an understanding of facts, procedures and ideas related to procurement and supply. You’ll be able to effectively interpret information and ideas, and learn how to identify, gather and use relevant information.

- This is an entry-level qualification, and there are no formal entry requirements.
Additional selection requirements
- Students must join CIPS as a student member.
- Use of study guides are included in the cost.
- Exam fees are included in the cost (except for resits).
What you study

- 5 core modules make up 18 of the required credits.
- 1 module carries 6 credits, with the rest carrying 3 credits.
After the course
Careers
Following this course, you could pursue a career in entry level or junior procurement roles.
Continuing Study
After completing the CIPS level 2 certificate, you can proceed onto the CIPS level 4 Diploma.
Teaching
How the course is taught
This course is taught on campus usually delivered on a Monday between 9am - 12pm, with revision sessions online, via Teams.
Teaching includes student led sessions further supplemented by activities and support on our Virtual Learning Environment.
Additionally, we recommend that you also commit to at least 54 self study hours. This includes wider reading of the subject areas and revision to give yourself the best preparation for successfully achieving the qualification.
Assessment methods
Each module has an exam. Both the three and six credit module exams are Objective Response.
Objective response (OR) are computer-based, which allow you to select a response from a list of possible answers. The exam time for three/six credit modules are 60/90 minutes, respectively.
Examinations take place at City of Glasgow College or remote invigilation can be organised for an additional fee.
