City of Glasgow College is a CIPS Centre of Excellence. All our CIPS courses are student-led.
During this course, you will spend 40% of your time engaging in online workshops and 60% engaging with Canvas, our Virtual Learning Environment, completing activities, engaging in discussions and completing practice papers.

What will I learn?
You will develop a higher level of practical, theoretical and technical knowledge and understanding of procurement and supply. You will build on the practical knowledge and understanding gained at CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply. You’ll be required to develop ways to address broadly defined, complex problems; analyse, interpret and evaluate relevant information, concepts and ideas and understand different perspectives, approaches and ideas within the profession.

Those who aspire to or are in a managerial level role and have completed the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply. With this qualification you can choose a career pathway, enabling you to specialise in areas of technical expertise. - The CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.

What you study

- Eight modules make up 60 of the required credits.
- Two modules carry 12 credits, with the rest carrying 6 credits.
After the course

This qualification will help you progress in your career.
Continuing Study
After completing the CIPS level 5 Diploma, you can proceed to the CIPS level 6 Professional Diploma.
Teaching
How the course is taught
This course is taught as day release and is delivered every Wednesday starting at 9am.
Teaching includes student-led sessions online using video conferencing. This will be further supplemented by activities and support on our Virtual Learning Environment.
Additionally, we recommend that you also commit to at least 335 self-study hours. This includes wider reading of the subject areas and revision to prepare you for successfully achieving the qualification.
Assessment methods
Each module has an exam. Six credit module exams are Objective Response, and 12 credit modules are Constructive Response.
- Objective response (OR) are computer-based, which allow you to select a response from a list of possible answers. The exam time is 90 minutes.
- Constructed response (CR) require a longer, essay-type response to questions. The exam time is 3 hours.
- Exam fees are included in the cost (except for resits).
Examinations take place at City of Glasgow College or remote invigilation can be organised for an additional fee.
