Overview
With an Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning and Development, candidates will learn how to support and drive change in their organisation.
This qualification is aimed at expanding independent practice so that candidates can evolve into learning and development leaders and managers.
Candidate’s work will be mainly operational with some complexity. They will contribute to the thinking around their work, analyse information to inform organisational learning and its future capability, and support employees to continuously develop.
This certificate is a Diploma-level (SCQF Level 8) professional qualification and is suited to individuals who:

Are established L&D or HR professionals or those with the relevant experience/ qualifications.

Are working in a L&D/ HR support role and are looking to increase their knowledge in employment relationship management, talent management and performance reward.

Those looking to take the next step up into a more senior people professional role.
CIPD membership
Candidates will be required to become a student member of the CIPD (cost in 23/24 was £144.00). The College will register students with the CIPD within a month of the course starting and CIPD will then contact you directly regarding membership. You need to remain in membership until all results are confirmed.
Each successful candidate will be awarded CIPD Associate Membership, and the designation “Assoc CIPD” after their name. This establishes credibility as a professional, raises an individual’s profile and opens doors to new job opportunities.
CIPD membership provides a badge of professionalism that’s internationally recognised. It showcases knowledge and impact within the people profession.
Attendance
Please note, in addition to the face-to-face classes on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening, there will be a requirement to attend an additional 14 face-to-face and/or online sessions held on weekday evenings (up to 50 sessions total for the entire course).

Minimum entry requirements

Entry to this course is based on the content of the application form with particular attention on work history and the personal statement. Sometimes an interview is required.

Significant current or recent experience in HR role(s) (Essential).

Ability to write English to a high standard (SCQF level 8/9) (Essential).

If English isn’t your first language, you’ll need to provide evidence that you’ve achieved ESOL Intermediate Level 2 (or equivalent) (Essential).

CIPD Level 3 Certificate in People Practice (Desirable).
What you study
Candidates will focus on real-life scenarios, acquiring the core behaviours derived from the CIPD’s Profession Map, which is based on the cumulative insights of thousands of experts.
This qualification consists of three core units, three specialist units and a choice of one optional unit.

Assessment methods
Students will be assessed through written assignments of up to 4,000 words for each module, which will need to be academically written with appropriate levels of referencing included. All assessments go through a rigorous internal and external verification process to ensure we consistently meet the highest quality standards set by the CIPD.
