Overview
In this course, you'll develop the practical and critical skills needed for a practicing photographer. Guest lectures and workshop sessions are an important element of the course with opportunities for business, entrepreneurship and enterprise activities.
A self-directed approach to your studies will allow you to tailor your portfolio towards your own photographic interests. During the fourth year of this course, you'll focus on and develop your skills and knowledge towards your own photographic goals.
This photography degree is delivered by the City of Glasgow College and validated by the University of the West of Scotland. You can find out further information on job prospects and work experience opportunities.

This course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 10.

Minimum entry requirements
- HND in Photography.
You must also meet the general admission requirements of the University and apply via UCAS.

ESOL entry requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.

Over two years, you'll study both practical photography and critical thinking.

- Creative Photography Projects.

After the course
Careers
The Creative Industries sector covers a range of creative practices and activities. As a graduate of this award-winning course, you will be well placed to work within this sector as a practicing photographer, or in a related creative industries role.
Continuing study
Following successful completion of fourth-year Honours, you may progress to Masters programmes in photography, or media.

This course will be delivered through blended learning with demonstrations, lectures and practical activities.
Assessment methods
Submitted work is assessed and graded by 1st and 2nd lecturer markers with an external examiner to validate grades.
