Overview
This is a practice-based degree, where you'll have opportunities to explore two and three-dimensional art as well as lens-based and digital disciplines. You'll have opportunities through your studies for professional placements in the arts and for curation and self-promotion. Critical thinking and writing are also central to the course.
This course is delivered by City of Glasgow College and validated by the University of the West of Scotland. We encourage a high level of artistic exploration and personal development in students while delivering a distinct and prestigious vocational qualification.
This course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 10.
Entry requirements
Minimum entry requirements
- BA Contemporary Arts at SCQF level 9 AND
- You'll be assessed on your professional portfolio.

ESOL entry requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.

Careers
This course prepares you for a career as a practicing artist, roles in museums, galleries, studios, art centres, public art and public sector agencies, education bodies, festivals and art fairs.
Continuing Study
Many of our graduates go on to study at Masters Degree level both nationally and internationally in various specialisms including Fine Art, Curatorial Studies and Arts Management as well as undertaking post-graduate Teacher Training Programmes.
