Marco Federico holding his Royal Television Society Award

Dr. Marco Federici, one of our talented television lecturers at City of Glasgow College, was awarded the prestigious "Best Director" across all genres at the Royal Television Society Scotland Awards 2023. This well-deserved recognition comes as a result of his outstanding work on the acclaimed feature documentary, "RICO: The Richard Demarco Story."

Narrated by Succession’s Brian Cox, this documentary celebrates the life and legacy of Professor Richard Demarco CBE, an icon of Scottish art, education, and the Edinburgh Festival. Dr. Marco Federici, a talented filmmaker, delves deep into the legendary Demarco Archive, to create a heartfelt homage to the Edinburgh Festival. The film takes viewers on a captivating journey using previously unseen footage and images to chronicle Demarco's remarkable life.

When he's not directing Marco can be found mentoring the next generation of television and media professionals at City of Glasgow College, an institution that has long been known for fostering links with broadcasters and industry professionals to deliver engaging opportunites and employment prospects.
