Overview

Please note - this is a schools college partnership course for school students in S4-S5.

Embark on an enriching journey with our NPA Level 6 Youth Work programme, featuring embedded King's Trust SCQF Level 5 units. This course is designed to provide you with vital community engagement and teamwork skills through a blend of theoretical learning and practical application.

Participants will engage in an interactive and hands-on youth work programme, acquiring skills and knowledge to become a youth/community worker. You will have the chance to work directly from a youth work centre, tackling real-world challenges and scenarios. The course culminates in a youth work and community project, allowing you to apply your newfound skills in a meaningful and impactful way.

Ideal for those passionate about community engagement and supporting others, this programme offers a unique opportunity to develop your abilities, gain valuable experience, and make a positive difference in the lives of young people. Join us and become a catalyst for change in your community.

Minimum entry requirements

This course would suit students who want to make a difference in their communities. Applicants must have achieved National 5 English at Grade C or above and are working towards a Higher qualification.

After the course

Careers

Scotland has a wealth of organisations focused on improving the lives and outcomes of young people. A bill is currently working its way through the Scottish Parliament to provide universal youth work, offering a range of activities designed to build confidence, life skills, and social inclusion.

Continuing Study

Successful completion of this NPA enables students to progress in either Early Education & Childcare or Health & Social Care before continuing on to study at HNC.
