Overview

This is a beginner screen-printing course suitable for students who have no previous experience in screen-printing or for students who would like to refresh their previous knowledge.

The course gradually introduces students to different screen-printing methods. From initial stencils the course moves progressively to photographic methods. More painterly approaches, using an open screen, will also be explored.

Screen-printing is a very versatile medium and can be used to achieve either graphic or expressive results. While the first part of the course will focus on learning how to print, the last weeks will give students a chance to use what they have learned to develop their own personal projects. By the end of the course students will have a good grasp of screen-printing techniques and methods. They will be able to print in at least two colours and with a good level of confidence.

Despite the course focusing mainly on printing on paper, there will be opportunities to print on t-shirts and fabric too.
